Shelter & Clothing Projects

Families in rural Uganda typically live in mud huts with tin roofs. These are traditional houses, usually small with a simple living area and bedroom, but some families cannot afford even these basic shelters. ACO Africa has worked with families living in desperate conditions, for example a family of five sharing a small straw hut and families of up to ten living in one small kitchen. This is unsafe, uncomfortable and unsanitary. In addition, we distribute clothing, toys and basic necessities to families desperately in need of support. We appreciate gifts in kind as well as financial donations.

Many children in rural Uganda do not have access to clothing. ACO Africa distributes donated clothes, shoes and toys to vulnerable children to improve cleanliness and  protection.

Everyone has a fundamental human right to shelter. This project is designed to provide housing for struggling families living in unsanitary and unsafe conditions.
